DS&B CONTRIBUTES EXPERTISE AT THAILAND DIGITAL IP FORUM 2025: CRACKING IP CHALLENGES IN THE AI DRIVEN WORLD

In today’s AI-driven economy, Thai innovators face unprecedented challenges in protecting their intellectual property. With technological advancement accelerating and digital assets becoming increasingly valuable, many businesses risk losing their competitive edge without proper IP protection strategies – particularly when expanding globally.

Domnern Somgiat & Boonma (DS&B) recently demonstrated our leadership in addressing these challenges at the Thailand Digital IP Forum 2025, held on 4 March 2025, at The Landmark Bangkok Hotel. This prestigious annual event, organized by the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), brought together leading experts under the theme “Cracking IP Challenges in the AI-Driven World.” This year’s forum served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange on digital intellectual property protection. The event aimed to raise awareness about the value of digital IP and promote better understanding of copyright and patent protection among digital entrepreneurs, startups, investors, academics, and the public.

Our Partner, Juthatip Vejsureeyakul, served as a panelist, revealing practical strategies for Thai businesses seeking international protection through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) system.

The PCT system offers a strategic pathway for Thai innovators seeking international protection for their digital innovations,” explained Juthatip Vejsureeyakul. “In today’s AI-driven economy, understanding how to effectively navigate from prior art searches and claim drafting to successful PCT filings can significantly enhance the value and security of intellectual assets for Thai businesses expanding globally.”

The forum specifically targeted the needs of businesses navigating the complex intersection of AI development and intellectual property protection – a critical concern highlighted by event keynote speaker Asst. Prof. Dr. Nuttapon Nimmanphatcharin, President/CEO of depa.

AI technology is currently a key driver of the global economy,” noted Dr. Nuttapon. “By 2027, Generative AI solutions are projected to grow by 40% due to their enhanced ability to integrate data from various sources efficiently, making it a crucial factor for gaining competitive advantage in today’s market.”

Furthermore, DS&B’s team engaged directly with Thai digital entrepreneurs, startups, investors, and established businesses at our exhibition booth. Our dedicated team, including lawyers Passara Thammashotworn, Napat Somchom, and Faunglada Kunthum, as well as patent specialists Teerayoot Sawangsri and Kong Tantinawachai, provided personalized consultation to innovators interested in protecting their digital creations.

DS&B’s participation in the Thailand Digital IP Forum 2025 reflects our ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of intellectual property developments, particularly in the rapidly evolving digital and AI sectors. We continue to adapt to new frontiers, refine our strategies, and strengthen protections for businesses navigating today’s AI-driven world.
