Profile

A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Rutorn joined Domnern Somgiat & Boonma as an associate in 1988 and became a partner in 1994. Since the beginning of his career in the firm, he has specialized in IP enforcement and IP consultancy. He has served numerous clients, both foreign and domestic, in various types of IP enforcement cases including IP litigation (both in civil and criminal cases), non-litigation IP enforcement matters, police actions and Customs seizures. His enforcement work covers trademarks, copyrights and patents. From 2015 to 2018, he was President of the Thailand group of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA). He is a regular contributor to the International Trademark Association (INTA), providing information on trademark and passing-off enforcement and trademark cancellations in Thailand.
