Starting his professional practice as a junior associate with Domnern Somgiat & Boonma in 2004, Nathapong has been nurtured and was promoted to a partner in 2017. His main responsibilities are trademark matters in Thailand, both contentious and non-contentious. He has assisted his prominent clients throughout all critical steps from protection strategy, clearance, prosecution to enforcement. While being specialized in trademarks, Nathapong is versatile enough to help the clients with other IP issues, including patent, copyright, geographical indication and trade secret. His expertise further expands beyond IPs to other areas, particularly contract, corporate, employment, consumer protection and cyber laws. He now leads the business law team of the firm handling non-IP cases for leading companies in telecom, fashion, healthcare and e-commerce industries. Nathapong also serves as a member of IP Boards in public universities assisting them in strategizing IP policies, revising IP-related regulations, and reviewing contracts on research and development as well as commercialization. In addition, he regularly lectures on IP and legal topics to practitioners, business owners, and university students.
