This summer, DS&B welcomed six promising law students from Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, and Mae Fah Luang University to experience the daily life of IP practitioners. During their two-month internship, these students got their first taste of what it means to practice intellectual property law in Thailand.
Our approach to internships is simple: we believe in learning by doing. Rather than having our interns merely observe, we involved them in the actual work of our practice. They joined our team meetings, participated in client consultations, and even attended court hearings. This hands-on experience gave them insights into the practical aspects of legal work that textbooks simply cannot provide.
The interns spent time with different practice groups, gaining exposure to various aspects of IP law. They learned how to research legal precedents, draft documents, and understand the nuances of client communication. A highlight of the program was their participation in our moot court activity, where they put their newly acquired knowledge into practice.
What made this year’s program particularly rewarding was seeing how quickly the interns adapted to the professional environment. They brought fresh perspectives to our work while learning the practical skills that will serve them well in their future careers.
At DS&B, we see our internship program as more than just summer training – it’s our investment in the future of Thailand’s legal profession. We’re already looking forward to welcoming next year’s group of aspiring lawyers.
