Profile
Bussarakam started her IP practice very early even before graduating. As a third-year student, she was first trained with Domnern Somgiat & Boonma, where she discovered her strong interest in intellectual properties. A year later, she represented her university in the INTA Asia-Pacific Moot Court Competition. In addition to her first-class honors, she graduated with the certificate for good educational performance as well as the award for a role model for extra-curricular activities. After graduation, she worked for an IP-specialized law firm, where she gained diverse experience of about one year in IP prosecution, IP litigation, mediation, and contract drafting for a wide variety of clients from individuals, SMEs to public companies. This allows her to understand not only her work but also unique natures and demands of different clients. In 2022, she was warmly welcomed back to the firm again as an associate with the main responsibility to handle appeal and opposition matters before the Trademark Office. She has been effective in collecting the relevant information and constructing strong legal and factual arguments to overcome the examiner’s rejection and to attack infringers’ applications. She also handles other steps of trademark prosecution, contracts, and PDPA. She has also expanded her expertise beyond IPs to other fields, e.g., brokerage, corporate, labor and employment. To supplement her practical knowledge learned from her daily work, she further explores the theoretical side of IP laws by pursuing her study in a Master of Laws program in intellectual property law at Ramkhamhaeng University.
